This year I went storm
chasing with veteran storm chaser and fellow UW-Milwaukee alumni Matt
Ziebell.
This year was much more of a success than previous years
which
had a lot to do with my chase partner. I learned a lot about storm
chasing in 2004...and future successful storm chases would be built on
the lessons learned from this year. Click on
the links below
to see the chase logs
from these days.
May
13-15, 2004 - Driving to our target area of
northern Nebraska where we see a single cell thunderstorm.
May
16, 2004 - Many severe storms over north central
Nebraska as a cold front sinks southward through the state.
May
17, 2004 - The best day of them all. A nice
supercell over north central Kansas interacting with the front and
producing textbook cloud photos.
May
18-21, 2004 - After a few bust days some
opportunistic chasing in Wisconsin on the way home.
June
13, 2004 - Thunderstorm moves through
the Green Bay area and produces an impressive looking shelf cloud.
