2007 was the year I saw my
first well developed tornado during its entire life cycle from wall
cloud to dissipation. Matt
Ziebell wa not able to join us this year so the crew from
last year of Randy Baker...Kirk Swain and Mark Rader was joined by
Randy's friend Dave
Inmon.
We ended up travelling a long distance this year as we chased
all the way from North Dakota to the Texas Panhandle in the span of 2
days. Click on
the links below
to see the chase logs
from these days.
May 19-20, 2007 - Met up with the chase team and have our first chase in Wyoming as rain obstructs a tornado. Includes a video of the chase.
May 21, 2007 - Chased a supercell near Bismarck, North Dakota that produced a tornado. Includes a video of the full tornado evolution.
May 22, 2007 - Chased several supercells in Northern Kansas where we see several funnel clouds...but miss out on the tornado.
May 23, 2007 - Chased several supercells in Oklahoma and Texas with a possible Tornado.
May 24-25, 2007 - The severe weather potential does not look that great so we call it a week. Took some pics of the flooding in Kansas. Includes a video summary of the entire chase set to music.
